Project Name

Sports Bar Style Home Theater

Location

This room was challenging and rewarding to work on at the same time. Integrating a Home Theater with 2 Plasma TVs with a wet bar created a great entertainment environment for sporting events.

HOME THEATER TECH SOLUTION:

  • 2 Flat Plasma TVs hung on 2 different walls in the same room with no visible wires.

  • Really high grade in-wall speakers allowed us to keep up the quality of sound and still conserve space for the wet bar and guests.

  • Equipment installed inside a closet outfitted with a custom cabinet and cooling system to allow doors to be left closed

  • All in one remote allows one-touch operation for turning on the system even though the equipment is in another room inside a closet .

  • Rear surround speakers are hidden inside ceiling

PROJECT CHALLENGE

Gilbert and Claudia enjoy hosting friends and family over for sporting events (ie. Superbowl). They asked us to integrate a Home Theater Tech system around a wet bar. Gilbert being the huge football fan that he is, wanted to have two flat plasma TVs installed each displaying a different football game at the same time.
We had 2 major obstacles in the project: The first was making it easy for him to able to change channels on both TVs along with allowing him to switch the sound coming out of the speakers between both TVs.
The second was to be able to properly center a speaker underneath the main plasma.

To be able to solve the problem of controlling this system we relied on our all in one remote which allowed them to control either TV with a press of one button. As far as for the speaker that we installed underneath main TV it took some hard labor to achieve this because there were two studs in the way. After gutting out and re-framing that section of the wall we were able to center the speaker. As you can see from the picture it looks like the wall was originally built that way.

As a final touch we retrofitted their sofa with our popular couch shakers. These devices will rumble the couch anytime there is some bass in whatever they are watching. Of course we set it up so that they can shut off the couch shakers whenever they like.

LESSONS
What you might think that initially will not work may end up working in the end with the right team.
